Background

The International Seminar on Early Childhood Care Education and Parenting 2017 (ISECCEP 2017), hosted by the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Centre for Early Childhood Care Education and Parenting (SEAMEO CECCEP) in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Culture (MoEC) of Indonesia and SEAMEO Secretariat (SEAMES) bring together diverse stakeholders of ECCEP representing the governments of SEAMEO Member Countries as well as public and private education institutions. The seminar will be a platform for the participants to share new learning paradigms and practices, exchange their perspectives on current issues and concerns surrounding ECCEP practice in Southeast Asia and build regional consensus on how ECCEP can effectively contribute towards the improvement of human development at the region.

OBJECTIVES

The International Seminar on Early Childhood Care Education and Parenting 2017 (ISECCEP 2017) has three primary aims:

  • 1. Provide a platform for conversations on experiences and best practices on the implementation of ECCEP on diverse topics that support the improvement of human development in the region
  • 2. Promote regional understanding, commitment to shared action, mutual collaboration and closer cooperation among ECCEP stakeholders in Southeast Asia.
  • 3. Ensure a wider access to ECCEP practice in the region

Themes

This seminar is expected to bring along the regional commitment to ensure the wider access to ECCEP within Southeast Asia region. The theme chosen for the seminar is "Children's Well-being and Effective Parenting in the Digital ERA". The presentations on the theme will provide a wisdom platform for ECCEP stakeholders, both national and international level, and to reflect the shared experiences of Southeast Asian countries in a new teaching and learning paradigms especially in ECCEP.

Sub-themes

There will be 4 (four) sub-themes for the paper presentations and discussions:
