Lembang, December 7, 2018 Minister of Education and Culture Prof. Dr. Muhadjir Effendy, M.A.P. inaugurated the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) Center for Early Childhood Care Education and Parenting (CECCEP). This SEAMEO CECCEP, he said, will be the center for early childhood and parenting studies in Southeast Asia.
“In ASEAN there is an organization called SEAMEO. Incidentally, now the president of the consul is Indonesia, I am now the consul president for SEAMEO. Then under the SEAMEO, there are 24 centers. It is spread throughout ASEAN member countries. “Coincidentally, there are seven centers in Indonesia, the latest is the CECCEP SEAMEO center,” he explained.
According to him, the SEAMEO Building CECCEP in Jayagiri was intended to respond to government policies that began to pay attention to ECCE. SEAMEO CECCEP, he said, can also facilitate ASEAN countries that still have not made ECCE as the priority.
“Hopefully, what Indonesia does, as the country with the most population at the ASEAN level, can be a pioneer for the implementation of accelerating the development of early childhood”.
