Delegates from 6 Southeast Asian Countries Attended Regional Teacher Training

On 2nd July 2019, around 45 teachers coming from 6 Southeast Asian countries gathered at Amaroossa Hotel, Jakarta. The crowd had come to attend SEAMEO CECCEP’s Regional Teacher Training of “Strategies for 21st Century Skills Early Childhood Teachers”. This training has special trainers coming, 6 distinguished lecturers from Polytechnic University of Philippines and special session with Ms. Euis from Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. While the delegates coming are from Lao PDR, Viet Nam, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, and also Indonesia.

The training went for 3 days, with the opening ceremony and 2 training sessions on the first day. Afterwards we had 3 sessions each on every day. Each session has very interesting materials and each facilitator had their own way to enliven the class. Many of the participants appreciated the facilitators for their cheerful energy in delivering materials. Plus, participants felt that the materials given were very related to their job.

This training finished with cultural visit and school visit, provided by SEAMEO CECCEP in order to introduce Indonesian (especially Jakarta) landmarks and historical sites. While school visit was held to give an insight about the implementation on Montessori curriculum in ECCE field in Indonesia. The group of facilitators and training participants was taken to Monas, National History Museum, and Kiddie Planet at Sunter for the school visit.
