In September, SEAMEO CECCEP also hosted an Annual Regional Forum for Early Childhood Care Education and Parenting which was attended by ECCE and Parenting stakeholders, academics, practitioners, and NGOs to share new knowledge, policies, and best practices for ECCE and Parenting. This forum is also a momentum for the participants to agree on the formation of the Association for Early Childhood Care Education and Parenting. Several members of the Governing Council were also actively involved as speakers and participants in the regional forum.
Director of SEAMEO Secretariat, Dr. Ethel Agnes P. Valenzuela said that in these very challenging times, SEAMEO CECCEP is one of the centers that has risen in this situation. This meeting is expected to give a huge contribution to the centre’s programmes in the following year. The focus of CECCEP is to develop ECCE and parenting programmes, which means that the Indonesian government as the host of CECCEP has committed to supporting SEAMEO CECCEP because it is part of the development of this country.
