Improving English Skill Through Games with Solve Education


On December 28, 2021, the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Center for Early Childhood Care Education and Parenting (SEAMEO CECCEP) held an activity to improve English skills through games. The event was attended by all SEAMEO CECCEP staff in collaboration with Solve Education. This event was held at the Auditorium.

The event was officially opened by the Deputy for SEAMEO CECCEP Program, Ith Vuthy. In his speech, Vuthy told all staff to take the activities seriously. This activity aims to increase SEAMEO CECCEP’s internal capacity in terms of English language skills.

In the next session, Adeline Agoes as a team from Solve Education explained the early history of solve education. Adeline revealed that learning should be fun, including in English. According to him at this time we cannot be separated from the internet. The internet and smartphones can be accessed globally quickly so that it can be easier to apply them.

Adeline explained the use of games in improving English. He explained about English Literacy as One of the Key Elements in Capacity Building and explained the use of one of the games, Dawn of Civilization.

This game has many features, such as building a city, interacting with friends, mini-games, rewards, bonus levels, and much more. The main menu does not only contain games to practice English but also mathematics. Before starting the game, users will be tested for their level of English proficiency. One of them is by listening and answering the correct words.

The whole game Dawn of Civilization explains that learning should be fun, especially in improving English skills. The last session closed with practice playing and then taking pictures together.
