The Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Center of Early Childhood Care Education and Parenting (SEAMEO CECCEP) has strengthened partnership with Quezon City University, Philippines in the field of Early Childhood Education and Parenting. The partnership between SEAMEO CECCEP and Quezon City University was contained in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). In the virtual meeting which was established through the MoU signing which was virtually signed by the Director of SEAMEO CECCEP Dr. Dwi Priyono, M.Ed. and Dr. Theresita Atienza as President of Quezon City University and staff on Monday, 26 July 2021
The MoU aims to strengthen cooperation in developing Human Resources (HR) in the Southeast Asian region so that they can face the challenges of the 21st century disruption era. Another aims of this collaboration is to prepare students in the Southeast Asian region to have skills and be able to adapt to the learning conditions of the 21st century.
Through this collaboration, both parties agree to disseminate research, as well as conducting joint research and participating in training. Not only in the field of research and training, but also the SEAMEO CECCEP expert exchange or student and lecturer exchange between Indonesia and Philippines.
In his speech, Dr. Dwi Priyono, M.Ed. said that in order to achieve SEAMEO CECCEP’s vision and mission to become a center of excellence in research, advocacy, and capacity building in the field of early childhood education and parenting, collaboration must be carried out to speed up the feasible program in the future. Therefore, SEAMEO CECCEP continues to collaborate with both national and international partners.
“We welcome the collaboration between SEAMEO CECCEP and Quezon City University. As a center of excellence in research, advocacy, and capacity building in the field of early childhood education and parenting, of course, collaboration must be carried out with the aim of creating leaps and innovations and realizing SEAMEO CECCEP’s vision and mission,” said the Director of SEAMEO CECCEP.
Meanwhile in her speech, Dr. Theresita Atienza as President of Quezon City University expressed her readiness to cooperate in digital and online research and development which includes pilot and collaboration programs that include data collection, information dissemination, expertise, scientific materials, publications, and information.
It is hoped that this good collaboration can improve the quality of human resource development, expand advocacy promotion and partnerships for other collaborative activities in early childhood education and parenting.
