Peer Review Process

The SEA-CECCEP Journal uses a blind peer review process. A minimum of three reviewers are assigned according to their areas of expertise. The Editor-in-Chief or Editor by research area (the list can be found on the Editorial Board page) makes the acceptance/rejection decisions. A summary of the editorial process is given in the flowchart below.
- Pre-screening of manuscripts
After submission, the initial aim of this review is to assess Suitability of the manuscript to the journal's scope and templates; qualification and background of authors; and rejection of poor quality manuscripts.
- Blind peer review
To assist the academic editors, the SEA-CECCEP journal staff will handle all communication with authors, reviewers and the external editor. An editor will check the status of manuscripts and the identity of reviewers at any time. A minimum of three reviewers are assigned according to their areas of expertise. Reviewers are given two weeks to complete their reviews. In the case of a revised manuscript, reviewers are asked to submit their report within one week. In both cases, extensions may be granted upon request.
- Editor's decision
An editor makes decisions on manuscripts after peer review (the list is on the Editorial Board page). The editor can choose to: accept, reject, ask the author to revise, and ask for an additional reviewer. If there is any suspicion that a paper may contain plagiarism, the Editorial Board will check it using the Turnitin software.
